Busy times
This blog's been pretty dead for a while. My business life has gotten particularly challenging this year, and blogging is one of the things that has fallen by the wayside.
The biggest news is that I have a new CEO coming in to Stockroom. This time it's a friend, who has had a key job with one of the largest companies in the industry for the last few years. He was happy where he was, but was attracted to Stockroom for the opportunity to play a larger, lead role in a smaller-but-still-established enterprise. His name is Mike, and I can say more about him when we're ready to do our press releases and whatnot in a month or two.
I've had some top management help before, on two occasions, but both of those appointments ended up being short-lived. One was for 9 months in 2003, and the other was for a little over a year in 2005-06. With Mike, all involved are expecting it to be a longer-term commitment. I think Mike's going to be pretty perfect for this job. His temperament is kinda opposite to mine in several complementary ways. He has a passion for the business, and good industry experience and connections. (On my end, I still have a passion for Stockroom, but I've never mixed it up a lot in the adult industry in general, and as the business evolves that is something the company needs to do a lot more.)
I will stay involved at Stockroom for the time being, and am actually looking forward to that now that I'll have some much-needed help and collaboration at the top management level. But over time I will be letting Mike run with it more and more, which will free me up to devote attention to other things... creative work, travel, figuring out what the next chapters of my life will be. I am looking forward to that.
